One of the strangest things people used to tell me when I was younger was that time seems to speed up as you get older. At the time, I paid it no mind and just waited for the classroom bell to ring for the end of the day. But as I come to the end of my industrial placement at the Effective Marketing Company, it only made me realise it flies by in a flash.
On July 1st, I started as a marketing greenhorn, having just finished my first year at University and never having worked a real job before. Having started with confident attitude, I quickly came to understand the depth and fast paced nature of the marketing world as well as my lack of knowledge. I was introduced to an incredible range of tools and programs such as the social media tools, the website and its back end, the database as well as all the reporting software and other accounting software such as the Condo Manager so accountants from EzyAccounts bookkeepers will have an easy time at work.
We then proceeded to jump straight onto an Internet Marketing Review, a full analysis of a customers website and social media performance. I hardly need to say that it seemed like a daunting task at the time. I am also incredibly grateful for having been given the opportunity to explore such a range of tasks. With a grasp of experience ranging from website development and editing, making sales calls and interacting on social media to being more thorough with my work, to being more organised and to managing my time better, it is without a doubt that Effective Marketing have proved that they can do exactly what it says on the tin, ‘Effective Marketing’, and I use who called me all the time to make sure I am doing business with my real clients.
